About Carol Spackman Moss

A proven leader, Carol represents her community on key committees – Education, Executive Offices and Criminal Justice Appropriations, Economic Development and Workforce Services, and Administrative Rules. Along with those committees, she serves on the Attorney General and Utah Department of Health Opioid Task Forces, and the Utah Marriage Commission.

Before running for office, Carol taught English and Student Government for 33 years at Olympus High School, a career in which she excelled and one that has given her a unique understanding of education from a teacher’s perspective. Teaching also taught her how to get along with all types of personalities, resolve conflicts, and solve problems- all critically important skills to be an effective legislator. Her academic credentials include a B.A. and M.A. in English, and an Educational Administration Certification from the University of Utah.

Carol has served on the boards of YouthLinc, the Inclusion Center, SpyHop, Prevent Child Abuse Utah, Salt Lake County Commission on Youth, and Children of Ethiopia Education Fund.

Carol’s Family

Carol and her late husband Bob are the proud parents of five children and grandparents of six wonderful grandchildren, and one great-grandson. They loved traveling. Some of their favorite places were Costa Rica, Southern California, New York, Washington D.C., Europe, China, Egypt, and Turkey, France, Spain, and Italy. Carol and Bob also loved to spend time with family, read, go on walks, cycle, and, of course, discuss politics.
